2-Pole Motor

A 2-pole motor has 1 pair or 2 magentic poles. 2-pole motors run at 3,600 RPM.

4-Pole Motor

A 4-pole motor has 2 pairs or 4 magetic poles. 4-pole motors run at 1,800 RPM.

6-Pole Motor

A 6-pole motor has 3 pairs or 6 magetic poles. 6-pole motors run at 1,200 RPM.

8-Pole Motor

A 8-pole motor has 4 pairs or 8 magetic poles. 8-pole motors run at 800 RPM.

Counter-Clockwise Lead End (CCWLE) Rotation

Counter-Clockwise Lead End rotation is the rotation given from the perspective of having the shaft pointing away from you and the shaft rotating to the left. 

Counter-Clockwise Shaft End (CCWSE) Rotation

Counter-Clockwise Shaft End rotation is the rotation given from the perspective of having the shaft pointing away from you and the shaft rotating to the right.

Clockwise Lead End (CWLE) Rotation

Clockwise Lead End rotation is the rotation given from the perspective of having the shaft pointing at you and the shaft rotating to the left.

Clockwise Shaft End (CWSE) Rotation

Clockwise Shaft End rotation is the rotation given from the perspective of having the shaft pointing at you and the shaft rotating to the right.

Horsepower

The rating of a motor’s ability to do work.

Lead End

Lead End is the motor perspective of having the shaft pointed away from you. Opposite lead end is shaft end.

Overload Protector

A temperature detecting device built into the motor that disconnects the motor from the power source if the temperature rise becomes excessive.

Revolutions per Minute (RPM)

The motor's RPM is how many times the shaft rotates per minute.

Shaft End

Shaft End is the motor perspective of having the shaft pointed at you. Opposite shaft end is lead end.
